work smarter ... not harder

yesterday at work, was one of the most tiring days i've ever had, really. from 6:45am to 5pm i hiked around darlington nuclear power station measuring the water levels in 100 different monitoring wells through 3 to 4 feet of snow. my muscles are very sore today.
i'm going to be working on this wells for the next two months (the rest of the winter) purging and collecting water samples. there is no way that i'm going to be able to the pumps, generator and sampling equipment through all of this snow. so i presented the idea to my boss about buying a pair of snowshoes ... and he thought it was a great idea.
so after a short trip to MEC this afternoon, i'm a proud owner of some kick-ass, and huge (i'm not a small guy), snowshoes.

That's pretty cool. Good thinking!
